We went to Scitech today and twas loads of fun, bubbles, electricity, fish and fighting fires :)
Both boys really enjoyed themselves, we were there for 3 hours! I think thats probably the longest we have stayed anywhere with them ever! There were a couple of shows and after a slow start Finley got involved in the puppet show and afterwards was having a whale of a time playing with the puppets, pretending to be an emu, eagle, lizard and frog. Marcus was up and dancing like a good un at the songs and just about getting the actions right. He did however decide that Daddy was chief sandwhich holder while he sat and danced with a complete random bloke and his wife, thanks Marcus, I know where I stand now!
Finley enjoyed playing in the helicopter and dressing up in a life jacket. However, I think the bit they both enjoyed was the petting zoo. They both got to hold and stroke guinea pigs (pictures below) and over dinner Finley announced "that was my pet geuinea pig" the years of replacing small fluffy animals in the nights shall begin soon :s Finley was fantastic holding his and he didn't squeeze to hard either, he was a little upset that the guinea pig didn't eat all of his carrot and trying to explain that the g. pig had been nibbling carrot for the last 5 hours didn't past muster! Anyway some fun photos.

Dinosaurs, beaches, ex-bosses, new friends, scitech, running and Kobudo
Tis getting cooler, we haven't had a day over 34'C for over a week now, which has been nice, especially on an night when we are all sleeping better for it. Therefore we are all more relaxed and (especially me) less tethcy. Which i'm sure Anna and the boys are more than happy about!
We have had a few days at the beach lately and one in the last week where we met my boss from WP in Leeds. Twas really nice to see him out here and seeming to enjoy life. They are having the fun and games of finding a house and as we found things are a lot more expensive here than you think before you come out. But hey ho, we are finding ways to reduce costs and make money go further. Like going to see the dinosaurs:)
In Kings Park there is an area with half a dozen life size replica dinos that have been put there for the kids to climb over and generally have fun playing on. Finley liked climbing on the giant wombat type dinos and Marcus was more interested in the ducks and was in stitches when they suck their arses in the air to feed...go figure! We met a friend from the office who got to Perth in October and is south of the river with his wife and son who is about 6months older than Finley. Again it was really nice just to sit (when the boys let us) and talk of normal things and have adult conversation (something Anna sorely lacks in me i'm afraid) and talk about how things are going and our experiences here. So slowly our circle of friends is growing and it's really nice that the support network grows at the same time and also that they are our friends rather than originally mine or Anna's.
Anna and i have both started running during the week to try and get some semblance of fitness back. We are following the couch to 5km program and so far we are both doing really well. So proud of Anna (and very pleasantly surprised at myself) for getting stuck in and doing it. Anna is also restarting Zumba on a Thursday, so she is going to be uber fit soon and running rings round me. I went to the University of Western Australia yesterday to see a Kobudo club and i liked the look of it. Very very different to the Takeuchi i have done so i need to forget everything i learnt and learn new stuff which i'm looking forward to.
Today Anna and the boys had fun at Scitech, rather like Eureka in Halifax for you northerners that know it. Finley decorated a cow bank and was extremely proud and made me walk into the house ladden with bags with eyes shut so he could surprise me with it :) complete with a rather scary pumpkin done by Mummy!
